Reporting Delays

As a carrier with Amazon Transportation Services, your company should report any delays while hauling loads for Amazon. A delay is incurred any time scheduled arrival time (SAT) is not expected to be met, regardless of root cause or the severity of delay. It is just as important to report a one minute delay as it is a 10 hour delay.

Note: Not reporting delays may impact your company’s performance score negatively, risking removal from the Relay Load Board and reduction of any contract work with Amazon, per Amazon Relay Terms of Service and Program Policies.

When to Report a Delay

There are four times when you may need to report a delay:

  • Prior to the load starting.
  • While the load is in transit.
  • After the load has been completed.
  • When Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) has changed.

Note: Delays should be reported no later than 12 hours after trip completion. Loads will lock after 72 hours, and delay reporting will no longer be accepted.

Reporting Process

Possible Delay Reasons

You will notice a diverse collection of delay reasons to choose from. Your company is responsible for selecting the most accurate Late Truck Reason (LTR) code. Continued failure to select the correct reason code or falsifying reporting may result in disciplinary action up to removal from Amazon, per Amazon Relay Terms of Service and Program Policies.

If you are unsure what LTR to select, please reach out to the Relay Operations Center (ROC) support for clarification per Amazon Relay Terms of Service and Program Policies. If there is not an LTR code that supports the circumstances surrounding the disruption or there are additional factors to consider, please submit a performance dispute via Relay. Refer to the Support Center in Relay.
