Allowing Location Availability

The Relay Mobile app will access location to ensure Amazon loads arrive on time. As a best practice, location should be available starting 15 minutes prior to origin check-in and until destination check-in has been completed in the app. To allow location availability, the driver should follow all the recommended steps for their device (Android or IOS).

  4. Relay Mobile app best practices

Advantages of the Relay Mobile App

  1. View all assigned work.
  2. Review work history, or loads that have already been completed.
  3. Access all load details – some loads may have special requirements.
  4. Receive load notifications directly through the app.
  5. Utilize Relay Navigation for safe and efficient routes for different equipment types.
  6. Easily report delays whenever at risk of missing a scheduled arrival time.

Upon installation of the app, the app will ask to access your location.

Select Always or Always allow.  Allowing Relay location access helps Amazon ensure loads are executed safely and on time.

Relay Mobile App's Importance to Amazon

Allowing Relay location access helps ensure that drivers haul Amazon loads safely and on time.

Note: We also recommend drivers not completely close the app, but keep it open and running in the foreground or background, until driver has departed their last stop.

It’s important to follow all steps within the Relay mobile app. Remember to mark each step complete in real time so the application does not get stuck in the previous step. This may not allow a driver to move on to the next step.

  1. Origin arrival
  2. Attach trailer
  3. Departure from origin
  4. Destination arrival
  5. Departure from destination

Relay Mobile App Best Practices

Key Points

  1. Even during Hours of Service (HOS) reset,  we recommend the app is kept running in foreground or background.
  2. For Team Driving Loads, both drivers should keep the app running in foreground or background.
  3. Location availability will not be impacted by network connectivity issues. As long as the app stays running in foreground or background, whenever connectivity is restored, the  information will be correctly uploaded.
  4. For any late tendered load we recommend driver(s) open the app within 30 minutes and keep it running in foreground or background for the entirety of the load.
