Lift Gate Maintenance

Repair Signs and Maintenance

A lift gate is a fold away metal platform that is mounted at the rear end of a box truck. When a lift gate is extended from below the truck, it assumes the role of a platform to move freight from the level of the truck bed to the ground level up and the reverse.

Signs that repairs need to be made/arranged for a lift gate:

  • The motor is inoperable.
  • Hydraulic cylinders or hoses are leaking.
  • Lift gate platform does not open/close properly.
  • Operational lift process is too slow.
  • Operating the lift is not smooth and jerky movements occur.
  • The platform gradually lowers after being raised.
